First off, apologies for the lack of updates. In the midst of juggling multiple projects at work, I managed to squeeze in a one week vacation in San Diego where I was busy enjoying great food and water sports with my girlfriend. As a result, I’ve been pulled away from the comforts of my computer and blog for quite some time.
Some of you may know that I’ve been interviewing for jobs, and I’m happy to announce that I’ve received an offer! Not to worry though, financial independence is still very much on my mind. At the same time, I’m excited to work hard and establish myself again among new friends and coworkers.
One thing that I’ve learned through this stressful process of job searching was to care more about the present. Sure, it’s responsible to save money for early retirement, but not at the cost of neglecting what I have now – a healthy career and vast experiences to gain. On top of that, I have a wonderful girlfriend and great friends.
Well, that’s all for now. Here’s to the next chapter of my life!
*Items sold on Craigslist: 10 gallon fish tank and one Nintendo amiibo.
**One of my four ways to save money in New York. My employer reimburses us for up to $35 for over-time meal expenses.
***This is still a work in progress. Ideally I’d like to give at a minimum 10% of my income, but right now I’m focused on saving.
